A vaccination refers to the process of receiving a vaccine whereas an immunization refers to the process by which a person becomes protected against a disease through vaccination.

Text and Email Management

  • The next time you visit a Costco Pharmacy, tell a pharmacist that you’d like to enroll in mobile services or text messaging.
  • You can also register for text messaging on our website.

No, an account is not a requirement to enroll. You can ask your pharmacist for help enrolling in the service.

Yes, you can. But know that the phone number used for multiple patients will receive all text messages for all patients associated with the number.

This usually happens when you attempt to fill a prescription that's expired or has no remaining refills. Your pharmacy needs your doctor’s approval before any such prescription can be refilled.

If you wish to permanently stop receiving pharmacy-related text messages, respond to any message with "Stop". Know that this action will also unsubscribe any other patients linked to the account, including family members and pets.

The next time you visit a Costco Pharmacy, tell a pharmacist that you’d like to ask a pharmacy location to be enrolled in mobile services or text messaging. You can also visit our pharmacy web page and register for text messaging on our website.

Here are a few additional considerations about text and email notifications from Costco Pharmacy:

Pricing

The Costco Member Prescription Program is NOT insurance. It is a prescription drug discount card program that provides eligible Costco members and their eligible dependents access to lower prices at participating pharmacies.

Any Costco Member can join CMPP. Persons under 18 or pets are eligible as dependent members.

You must choose either CMPP or your prescription insurance program. If you choose to CMPP, the dollars will not count toward your deductible.

Yes. You may use the CMPP card to apply discounts to any medications you choose.

The discount card does not pay or provide reimbursement for prescription drug purchases. It simply provides participating members with access to discounted prices for prescription drugs. Members are required to pay the discounted price in full at the time of purchase.

The discount is determined at the time of purchase, based on negotiated discounts with suppliers and manufacturers for the drug(s) dispensed, and/or the net cost of purchasing certain drugs, both of which may change from time to time. You are welcome to ask your pharmacist about the amount of your savings under the CMPP discount card when you purchase a prescription. Typically, savings range from 2% to 40% or more, depending on the drug. Prices are subject to change and may vary by location.

  • Search for your medication at Costco.com/cmpp to compare prices and save.
  • Show your Costco membership card at the participating pharmacy of your choice to receive your discount.
  • Save money instantly with exclusive member-only Costco pricing!

Mail Order

You can create your account in three easy steps:

  • Enter your email address and confirm with a verification code.
  • Enter a password for your account
  • Enter your name, date of birth, phone number and Costco prescription number (optional)

We recommend ordering when you have 2 to 3 weeks of medication remaining. This will allow 1 to 4 business days for processing time and 6 to 10 business days for delivery with our free standard shipping, excluding weekends and holidays. If you are running low on medication and need it more quickly than standard shipping allows, you may consider expedited shipping when available or Contact Us immediately at 1-800-607-6861 or via Live Chat for assistance.

We generally recommend that patients who are low on or out of medication contact their doctor and request that a 2 - 3 week supply be phoned in to a local pharmacy - this ensures you don't end up going without while waiting for the order to arrive. Most insurance plans have overrides available so that short-term emergency supplies will be covered while you are waiting for mail order, so this is usually both much faster and less expensive for most patients than opting for expedited shipping.

Two levels of expedited shipping are available at an additional cost: UPS 3 - 5 Day Air for $10.95, and UPS 2 - 4 Day Air for $13.95. Processing time remains 1 - 4 business days and is dependent on the volume of prescriptions we are processing, regardless of shipping speed. If you prefer expedited shipping, you can select this when requesting the transfer, or Contact Us via phone or Live Chat to have us request the transfer with the desired shipping speed.

No. You don't need to be a Costco Member to use Costco pharmacies, including Costco Mail Order Pharmacy.

In most cases, this unfortunately isn't possible. Most mail order pharmacies will not transfer prescriptions out, especially to other mail order pharmacies. If your previous mail order pharmacy has advised you that they will transfer the prescription out to us, please Contact Us via phone or Live Chat to have us request the transfer. Otherwise, please contact your doctor and ask them to send the prescription to us directly. If your doctor needs our prescribing information, please Contact Us via phone or Live Chat to request that information.
